Knight-Hennessy Scholars (Stanford University)
Award: Financial support for full cost of attendance at Stanford for any full-time graduate or professional program (including dual-degree programs). Possibly additional financial support for special situations.
Number of awards: up to 100 scholars per year
UC San Diego deadline for optional university endorsement: Typically late September. Next deadline: September 25, 2024.
Agency deadline: Typically early October. Next deadline: October 9, 2024, 1 PM Pacific Time
- All citizens of the world are welcome to apply. About 1/3 of the cohort will be from the US.
- Graduating college senior or recent grad (within 5 years of BA/BS award).
- MUST apply to Stanford graduate department/professional school independently of the Knight-Hennessy award and be chosen for both in order to receive the award.
- Seeking promising future leaders from all disciplines and geographies.
- Major considerations for the award: independence of thought, purposeful leadership, civic mindset
- Any standardized test scores your graduate/professional program requires for admission.
- Two recommendation letters, separate from the ones written for your graduate/professional degree program
- Video supplement (up to 2 minutes), production value not a factor in the application.

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University does not require an endorsement from the UC San Diego Institutional Advisor but it is recommended that applicants review the requirements and meet with the institutional advisor before applying.
