Laura Long

Laura Long was a 2022 Ahmadian Fellow. She researched the contribution of actin reorganization in vesicle translocation. Laura is now in the master's part of the School of Biological Sciences BS/MS program and researching the contribution of actin reorganization in vesicle translocation. Dr. Pamela Nwakanma

Dr. Pamela Nwakanma, a McNair alumna, earned her PhD in 2022 from the Department of Government at Harvard. She is currently a Leading Edge Fellow at the American Council for Learned Societies. Her research areas include political economy of development, Africana studies, comparative politics, identity, gender, and entrepreneurship. Joshua Young Yang

Joshua is an URH alum that participated in URH programs and conferences as undergrad at UC San Diego. He is a co-founder of a biotech diagnostics startup called Nephrosant and was recently featured in Forbes magazine for his work in innovating the Healthcare industry.

Azareen Van der Vliet Oloomi

Azareen Van der Vliet Oloomi was a URH scholar during the 2003 Summer Research Program and graduated in 2004, majoring in Latin American studies and creative writing. She is an award winning author and has published several books.
