Donald Strauss Scholarship
Award: $15,000 for public service project & tuition, fees, books, room & board.
Number of awards: 10-15, up to 3 nominees from each university
UC San Diego Deadline to be considered for nomination: Usually mid-February, by 4:30 pm Pacific Time
Agency deadline to submit nomination: Usually early March
Apply as a sophomore or junior (or non-graduating senior)
Two letters of recommendation
Public service project proposal, up to 4 pages including budget and timeline
Future career, or volunteer, in public service
Plan for a community service project to be completed before April of the following year

The Donald Strauss Scholarship requires an endorsement from the UC San Diego Institutional Advisor. It is recommended that applicants review the requirements and meet with the institutional advisor before applying.
