Eligibility & Requirements
Applications for Summer 2021 are now CLOSED. Check out the eligibility and requirements if you want to apply for UC Scholars in the future.

Genentech Scholars
The Genentech Scholars Program is a 10-week full-time summer research program that is a sister program to the UC Scholars Program. The Genentech Foundation seeks to support students in life science and technology fields who may have faced barriers to engaging in research in the past. Participants in the Genentech Scholars Program have essentially the same experience as students in the UC Scholars Program, with the main difference being that the Genentech Scholars Program is 2 weeks longer and will have a proportionately larger stipend. Almost all events during the summer will have both UC Scholars and Genentech Scholars together as a combined group. There is not a separate application for the Genentech Scholars Program; students who apply to the UC Scholars Program will be asked to indicate whether they would like to be considered for the Genentech Scholars Program in the application.
If you have any questions about the Genentech Scholars Program, please reach out to the program coordinator, Dr. Sophia Tsai (stsai@ucsd.edu, 858-534-9014).
