Triton Research and Experiential Learning Scholars (TRELS) study abroad awards provide students with up to $3,000 to study abroad during the upcoming academic year.  Applications for the 2021-2022 academic year are now closed. Applications for the 2022-2023 academic year will open in Winter 2022.

Eligibility

  • TRELS is open to undergraduates of any class standing and any major, with at least a 2.5 GPA.
  • There is particular interest in providing opportunities to a diverse group of outstanding students, particularly those who face financial and other obstacles to studying abroad.

The TRELS study abroad scholarship supports students seeking financial support for their study abroad programs.

Interested students should apply through the UC San Diego opportunities portal by submitting the “Study Abroad Scholarship” application during the Winter quarter prior to the academic year during which they plan to study abroad.  Upon submitting your application, the review committee will consider you for TRELS funding as well as other funding opportunities for which you may be eligible.
